Our Story
It all started back in 2023 with Jayden and me, the original founders of Soles for the Soul. We launched this initiative with a simple yet powerful belief: that a great pair of sneakers can do more than just protect feet—they can spark confidence and inspire joy. We saw quality shoes gathering dust in closets and knew those pairs could find a meaningful second life with youth in Taiwan.
For the first few years, the focus was laser-sharp. We spent countless hours collecting, scrubbing, and restoring sneakers to their former glory. It wasn't just about charity; it was about dignity. Every pair sent out was a message to a child that they were valued and seen. This foundation of care and connection became the heartbeat of our organization.
Fast forward to 2025, and the journey continues to evolve. I'm Ethan, and I am honored to carry on the legacy that we built. While the core mission remains the same, I realized that we could do even more. The needs of the communities we serve go beyond just footwear, and our capacity to give has grown along with our experience.
That's why I've expanded Soles for the Soul to include not just sneakers, but also books and clothing. I want to nourish the whole child—providing comfort for their bodies and fuel for their imaginations. By widening our scope, I hope to provide a more comprehensive package of support, ensuring that every donation box we send is bursting with opportunities for growth and happiness.
Looking ahead, my vision is to ensure this project lives on and reaches even further. I am actively working on expanding our network by looking for more passionate volunteers to join our cause. I am also researching new destinations and partnering with more organizations to ensure our contributions reach the corners of the world where they are needed most.
